redigérHi, Johshh
I had the very same problem the other day on Swedish Wikisource, and got the following advice from one of the people there as to what to do when this happens. You have to purge the original file on Wikimedia Commons, and then the copy on DA Wikisource will start to work as it should. I did this for you this time for vol 1 and 3 of the work you have uploaded to get you started, and the purge fixed the problem. For future reference, here is his advice.
“Quite a few times I've had "problems" with a new index where it won't recognize the file that I've just uploaded to Commons. Usually shows up as a "placeholder" instead of the image, OR the <pagelist ...> thingie in the "Sidor" box just generates an error message instead of page numbers. When I right-click on the placeholder, it often (always?) shows as 0 bytes, and it is a symptom of a cache problem at Commons. (Presumably it "remembers" the file size from some instant just after the upload began, instead of from when it completed. Most likely, it will also "fix itself" if you wait long enough, but ... who has time for that?)
For those occasions I've made myself a note that says: How to reload / purge a file that doesn’t get recognized by Wikisource index: This could show up as (eg) a zero-length file, or an Invalid interval on the pagelist. Execute the following in the browser's address bar:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Julkalender%201889.pdf&action=purge
where “Julkalender%201889.pdf” is the name of the file that lives in Commons and isn’t showing up.”

I hope this information is helpful to you. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions I can help you with. I prefer to write in English because I live in Arkansas in the US, but I read German and Scandinavian languages without any problem, so feel free to correspond in Danish if you feel more comfortable doing that.
Good luck with your ambitious project.

- Thank you. I thought I was going crazy because it sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've had the same problem as you.
- I thought it was an issue with DjVu, but I also encountered problems with PDF files. There's no real difference between them? regarding this puring thing, right?
- I tried purging it on Wikimedia Commons, but that alone didn't work. However, after purging it on wikisource as well, it finally worked.
- Why doesn't wikisource just remove the cache automatically? This seems like a bug at there hands? Johshh (diskussion) 7. jan. 2025, 22:18 (UTC)
